MEMORY MAKING: FINISHING INSTRUCTIONS FOR MOLDS

Memory making molds

An invaluable service offered by our recreation therapists is our Memory Making Program, and one of the treasured items are hand and foot molds. The molds take approximately two weeks to dry completely, they will always be very delicate; handle them with care. Should you wish to store them away for safe keeping, wrap them in tissue paper or paper towels (anything without dyes in them) and place them in a zip lock bag. Finishing your molds with some sort of paint / sealant is a good idea. The mold as it is currently (without any finishing) is susceptible to taking on oils from your hands and other dust particles, when handling the mold, you should wear latex gloves.
